STRAIGHT FROM THE FOUNDER
Hi, I’m Tvishi Mahajan, the founder of Cushioning Minds.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, questioning yourself, or simply needing a space that feels safe and supportive—you’re in the right place. This is a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. You just get to show up as you are, and together, we’ll make sense of what you’re carrying.
Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes or judgment—it’s about curiosity, reflection, and compassion. I’ll sit with you in your story, listen deeply, and hold space for both your struggles and your strengths.
Over the last 10 years, I’ve worked with children, adolescents, young adults, parents, and professionals—supporting them through self-esteem struggles, relationship concerns, parenting stress, burnout, identity exploration, emotional regulation, and more. Whether you’re here for long-term healing or short-term support with practical tools, my goal is to help you feel cushioned yet empowered.
Outside the therapy room, I love exploring stories—whether through books, movies, or conversations. That’s probably why I’m so drawn to the stories my clients bring in: each one is unique, powerful, and worth re-shaping into something kinder, freer, and more authentic.y approach blends evidence-based tools like CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy with a warm, human touch. It’s about helping you untangle the patterns that weigh you down and reconnect with the parts of yourself that feel free and alive.

You reach out — through a call, email, or by booking a session. This is the first step towards support, and we’ll guide you gently from here.
First Session (Understanding You)
In our first meeting, we focus on listening to your story. We explore what’s been difficult for you, what you’d like to change, and what support you need. There’s no pressure — it’s about creating a safe, judgment-free space.
Setting Goals Together
We work with you to set simple, meaningful goals — whether that’s managing emotions, improving relationships, or finding healthier ways to cope.
Personalized Therapy
Using evidence-based approaches like CBT, Narrative Therapy, ACT, and DBT — tailored to your needs — we work together to build insight, learn tools, and practice strategies that bring real change.
Progress & Growth
Over time, you’ll notice shifts — feeling more in control, understood, and supported. Therapy isn’t about perfection; it’s about growth, resilience, and feeling lighter than when you started.
Ending or Continuing
Some clients come for a few sessions, others continue longer. We’ll review your progress together and decide the pace that feels right for you.

Tvishi ma’am is a great counsellor, her work reflects her knowledge and experience. Her approach towards her students, their parents is very loving and she deeply connects with them and come up with solutions. I recommend her services to everyone in need. Her counselling does works wonders.
I've been suffering from chronic anxiety from a really long time. In just few sessions, the therapy helped me to a lot better, helped me to regulate my emotions much better. She creates a really good non judgemental environment, listens to you in an empathetic way.
I have taken counseling sessions from her and she is great in her job. According to me she have all the skills which is required. Taking sessions from her have been very beneficial and helpful for me. From starting sessions till end she have been non judgmental and I have always felt comfortable while talking about the issues with her.
Therefore she is a great counselor.
Words are less and it is difficult to say what impact Tvishi has made to my life! The best person I came across as a therapist. The one who relates to your problem and make you feel like you are in a safe and comfortable zone and can share anything and everything without any hesitation and feeling of judgement. It never feels like you are going for therapy in fact it is a feeling of going and meeting up a friend on regular basis and just talking about the things going on in your life and in general. To move yourself from messed up mind and negative thoughts to a more sorted personality and positivity in your life she is indeed the perfect person to reach out to help you make your life worth living and amazing
Going for a therapy is never easy when it comes to telling people. But with Tvishi, the first time felt as if it was the best place to open your heart out. Been 4 sessions with her and whenever in doubt, i still book an appointment and it feels so light after meeting her. My anxiety and panic attacks improved genuinely. She is such a good listener. And also helps with handling emotions to great extent. Her therapy feels like talking to a friend who guides you through your ups and downs.

Movie Analysis: Black Swan from a Psychological and Art Therapy Perspective
Black Swan explores the psychological toll of perfectionism, identity conflict, and external pressure through Nina, a ballerina descending into psychosis. The film highlights obsessive-compulsive tendencies, anxiety, body dysmorphia, and the struggle between repression and liberation. From a therapeutic perspective, it shows how art can both reveal and amplify subconscious struggles, emphasizing the need for self-compassion, balance, and emotional expression in high-pressure creative pursuits.

From Books to the Therapy Room: Embracing the Messy Magic of Becoming a Psychologist
Becoming a psychologist is a hands-on, messy, and deeply human process. Theory can guide you, but real learning happens in sessions with clients. Early mistakes, self-doubt, and nerves are normal—what matters is listening, holding space, maintaining boundaries, and being kind to yourself. Growth comes from showing up authentically, not chasing perfection.

FAQs
What happens in a typical therapy session?
Sessions usually involve talking through what’s on your mind, exploring patterns in your thoughts or behaviors, and learning coping techniques. Sometimes we may also use worksheets, role-plays, or activities (especially for children).
How long is a session?
A typical session lasts about 50–60 minutes. For children, sessions may include play or creative activities and can be slightly shorter depending on attention span.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your goals and needs. Some people come for a few sessions, others for several months. We will regularly review your progress and decide together what feels right.
What if I feel nervous or don’t know what to say?
That’s very common. You don’t need to have everything figured out — therapy is about starting where you are. Your therapist will guide you gently and help you put your feelings into words.
Do therapists prescribe medication?
Counseling psychologists do not prescribe medication. If medication might help, we can guide you to a psychiatrist who can work alongside therapy if needed.
How do I know if therapy is working?
You may notice small shifts — feeling less overwhelmed, handling situations differently, or understanding yourself better. Progress takes time, but many people feel lighter and more supported after just a few sessions.
